The Challenge

After the rebrand, the next question was obvious: where does this new identity actually live? For Centre Culturel d’Herstal, the old website had become a quiet problem. Updates were fragile, and impossible to scale. The team had little autonomy and even less momentum. We rebuilt the site from the ground up on WordPress, using Bedrock, Sage, and Tailwind 4 with a fully custom theme. The new architecture mirrors the rebrand: bold, generous, and easy to move through. But the real challenge was the heart of any cultural venue : the agenda and the ticketing. Rather than send visitors off to a third-party platform mid-decision, we built a custom integration that pulls the UTick ticketing service directly into the site, connected to a dynamic agenda. Browse the season, choose an event, book your seats, all without leaving the page. For visitors, it removes friction from the shopping experience. For the team, it removes friction from the day-to-day: the agenda updates itself from a single source of truth, and the site finally moves at the same pace as the institution.

From dependency to autonomy

The previous site relied on an outdated and obsolete WordPress theme which didn’t serve the website as a great tool of communication. Thanks to our custom theme, the team has now a clean editing interface, so they can updates content themselves without depending on anyone. Our modern WordPress stack is designed for long-term maintainability, so the next update or feature is easy instead of painful.

Dynamic agenda and booking that stays on-site improve user experience

The agenda was the main element of this rebuild. It pulls live from the ticketing service, so the program on the site is always in sync : no double entry, no outdated dates, no missed events.

So, we integrated the agenda and the ticketing service directly into the website. Visitors can now browse, choose, and reserve their tickets on the website itself.

The rebrand, alive online

As part of their rebranding, the site is where the new visual identity lives at full volume : typography, gradient, and the door as a quiet anchor across every page.
